Greenbelt Brewers Association: Meeting Minutes 11/17/09

To all who missed the meeting this past Tuesday, may the heads on your beers stay rocky and firm. You missed a convivial yet educational beergarden kindergarden of a time.
We elected officers:

Calendar and Upcoming Events

  • Greenbelt Brewers Association Yuletide Christmas Party 12/11/09 at Robbie McMurray’s place, the N-St. Common House. 7:30 pm – Midnight. Its a Potluck. Bring your finest homebrew and your favorite commercial swill. Will there be a white elephant beer gift exchange? Will there be a raffle for a bottle tree? Details to be elucidated, bantered, complicated, and discussed in the brewchat thread here.
  • December Greenbelt Brewers Association Meeting will include guest speaker, Todd Ashman of FiftyFifty Brewing Co. He will be discussing the secrets of his brew, Collaborative Evil. Details about this incredible beer here .
  • Winter Seasonal Beer Party at the Grad this Friday,11/20/09. Details on how much Abyss you should drink here .
  • Dogfishead & Sierra Nevada collaboration Life & Limb tasting at the Owl Club in Roseville this Thursday 11/19/09. Details on the bicoastal giants of craftbrewing heroism here .
  • Folsom Brewmeister Christmas Party 12/10/09 the day before our party. It should include rival gangs, er…clubs. Drive safe. Better yet, get John S. to drive. Details on the Folsom Brewmeister Site here.
  • Note: There will be a December meeting in addition to the Christmas Party next month. That way you can drop extra beer geek knowledge at your office holiday party.
Stay tuned for Part 2 of the this month’s minutes. We enjoyed a wonderful presentation on water by Mike Matiasek. If you missed it, your beer tastes awful, and you would like to know more about how to rectify this situation, Part 2 of these minutes will most likely include the incredibly informative packet he put together for us. Thanks again, Mike.
We here at the Secretary’s office appreciate your patience with this month’s multi-parted minutes. Next month we will have more consolidated minutes by virtue of the fact that our new Secretary (myself), will actually be taking notes. Feel free to supplement, amend, and/or ferment these minutes by replying to this thread. Part 2 should be out by the end of this week.
